NEW for 2015 – 5K !
The Relay is no more but we’ll have a 5K! The 5K will start the same time and place as the 8-Miler, but around Mile 2 will veer off and continue the last mile on the very cool and scenic Bike Path. Finish will be near the Parking area at the Recreation fields. 5K runners also get the nice orange technical shirt.
The Stowe 8-Miler is a classic summer race now in its 34th year. Vermonters and runners from all over New England, Canada and beyond return year after year to Stowe for this historic event. If you are a veteran runner of this race we welcome you back; if you are considering running the Stowe 8-Miler, don’t miss the fun!
The Course: As beautiful as ever, this eight mile single-loop course starts just off Mountain Road in the town of Stowe. The course is rolling with some flat sections, all of which takes runners through the beautiful Vermont countryside and then through the heart of downtown Stowe. (See Course for 2015 updated information)
Start: 9:00 AM sharp! Report to the starting line by 8:50 AM at the Recreation Field just off the Mountain Road on Weeks Hill Road.
Finish Location: The finish is on the front lawn of the Golden Eagle Resort.
Finish Party: After the race, take a short walk up the Rec Path to the famous Rusty Nail (1190 Mountain Rd) and join us for the celebration! The famous after race party features cold Smuttynose craft-brewed beer and hand-scooped Island Home made ice cream!
Support Stowe Recreation’s Scholarship Program:
We are pleased to work closely with Stowe Parks & Recreation in securing the Rec Field as our Start area for the 8-Miler. We also support the Stowe Recreation Scholarship Program and hope you will too! The program allows residents of Stowe to participate in Rec programs no matter their economic status.
You can help by making a contribution during the race registration process – that was easy!
